Lemlist
Personalisation is only worth it when it serves a purpose. On wrong data a merge field does more damage than no personalisation at all.

What you learn in the first month
It earns its place on multichannel, where the LinkedIn side is easier to run than in tools that started life as cold email senders. Whether a campaign actually goes on it comes down to one question: do we need the platform to coordinate the outreach, or have we already built that and only need somewhere to send from? Most of our work happens before a sending platform ever sees it, in the research, the targeting and the message. When we are bringing all three, what is left is running the sends and handling the replies, and for that we lean towards Smartlead or Instantly, judged on sending cost, client separation and how cleanly they fit the way we already work. Lemlist wins the cases where email and LinkedIn have to move together in one sequence.
We earn a commission if you sign up through some of the links on this page. What each tool teaches you is written from running it, and the hosting answer is the same whether we earn on it or not. Where there is no link, there is no programme we are part of.
Where the data sits
The European Union, and the only unambiguous one in this directory. Lemlist states that all data is stored within the European Economic Area on servers located exclusively in France and hosted by OVH, and that no personal data is exported outside the EEA. With nothing leaving, no transfer mechanism applies.
Worth saying plainly: hosting outside the EU can still be GDPR compliant. It is not the same thing as EU data residency, and which one you need depends on who you sell to. What the law actually asks of you is a separate question with a separate answer.
