Ammo Studio
$470K in pipeline, in four months
At a glance. Ammo Studio, a Webflow agency, wanted early-stage startups that had just raised. RELAY™ reached their technical leaders with one angle, better demos through clearer explanations, and produced 78 replies a month, $470K in pipeline in four months, and a deal closed in five days.
The constraint
Ammo Studio builds Webflow sites for venture-backed startups, ideally ones that have just raised $1–1.5M at pre-seed or seed, from investors like Sequoia or Y Combinator. New business came from SEO, a little paid advertising, referrals, and cold emails Dennis sent himself. The market was big. Reaching the right founders at the right moment was the hard part.
What we built
The list. Funded companies on .ai domains, many announcing their raise, with technical leaders identified and verified across several data providers.
The angle. Their biggest headache: getting more demos by explaining complex technology better.
The engine. Cold email at volume, tested by segment, with every piece of copy shared with Dennis for his feedback before it went out.
The play that worked
The fresh-funding filter. Startups that had just raised had budget, urgency and a product to explain. Targeting that moment put Ammo in front of founders exactly when a new website was on their list.
The demo-rate angle. Instead of selling websites, the messages talked about a problem founders feel every week: demos that stall because the product is hard to explain.

“We actually did get a close out of it. It was a five-day close cycle. They were all funded, or just announcing the raise, which is exactly what we wanted.”

If your buyers are plentiful but hard to single out, a volume engine works, as long as the list is verified and the message speaks to their problem instead of your service.
