Attio

Notes are kept short on purpose, because the AI layer reads the CRM too and a wall of prose serves it no better than it serves a person.

What you learn in the first month

We moved here from HubSpot, which was not wrong for us, just a less economical way to run a CRM. The part we use most is the AI support for follow-ups and for suggesting the next step through the sales cycle. Nothing is deliberately kept out, but everything is kept concise and structured, because Claude reads inside the CRM and short structured notes serve both sides. The thing worth thinking about before choosing any CRM is not the CRM itself, it is the cost of moving off it later. Pick for more than next year's requirements.

Where the data sits

Google Cloud, region not published. Attio's data processing addendum states that the platform is hosted on Google Cloud Platform but names no region, and its privacy policy states that personal data may be stored or transferred outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Its sub-processor annex mixes EEA and US entities, with standard contractual clauses for transfers. A British vendor with no EU residency option.

Worth saying plainly: hosting outside the EU can still be GDPR compliant. It is not the same thing as EU data residency, and which one you need depends on who you sell to. What the law actually asks of you is a separate question with a separate answer.
