Outbound Glossary

Sending limit

The ceiling a provider puts on one mailbox per day. The published number is the maximum, not the safe number.

Every mail provider caps how much a single account may send in a day, and the caps differ by plan. Exceeding them gets you throttled or suspended.

The mistake is treating the published cap as a target. A cold campaign sending at the limit from a mailbox with a short history looks exactly like abuse, and the safe working volume is a fraction of what the plan allows. Grow into it and stop at the point where replies, not limits, become the constraint.
