Inbox placement

Whether a delivered message actually reached the inbox or the spam folder. Delivery rate hides the difference, this number shows it.

A message can be accepted by the receiving server and then filed in spam, and from the sender's side both look like a successful delivery. Inbox placement is the share that landed somewhere a person will see.

You measure it with seed accounts across the main providers, which gives an indication rather than a certainty, because your seeds are not your prospects. A delivery rate of 99 percent with placement of 40 percent is a campaign that is failing quietly, and it is the single most useful pair of numbers to watch together.

Watching placement rather than delivery, across a set of domains and over months, is part of the infrastructure work inside RELAY™.
