Hiring signal
A job advert read as evidence of a problem. The advert says what they are trying to fix, and often how urgently.
A hiring signal uses open vacancies to infer what a company is building, scaling or struggling with. The text of the advert usually describes the problem in the company's own words.
The reading matters more than the count. Three adverts for the same role mean something different from one; an advert open for four months means they cannot fill it, which is a different conversation from an advert posted last week. Volume of vacancies alone is a weak filter.
